Blatter redefines the world 'mistake'

So the FIFA President says that awarding the World Cup to Qatar was a 'mistake'.

Perhaps he has seen the reports that building the World Cup in Qatar is now expected to cost the lives of more than 4000 migrant workers (900 have already died). Many are forced to work long hours without any food.

Or perhaps he has suddenly realized that hosting the matches there constitutes a very serious threat to the health of the players involved.

What I find curious is this use of the word 'mistake' though. As though the delegates somehow accidentally voted for Qatar. As though they weren't all told, over and over again, about the conditions facing migrant labour, the temperature and state laws against drinking and homosexuality.

So did Jack Warner 'mistakenly' take 2 million USD from a Qatari official?

Did he 'mistakenly' resign when he was caught on camera urging other voting delegates to accept bribes?

There were 22 Delegates involved in the voting process for Russia and Qatar - of these 9 are no-longer committee members and several have been investigated on corruption charges related to the voting. This was so shady the even the likes of Blatter hasn't been able to cover it up.

This was not a mistake, it was a crime - and those responsible and their facilitators should be in jail.

I suspect that Blatter will be in the job for life.
For the moment he is not, then all the financial investigators will probably tear into him like a pack of wolves.

Blatter is a dinosaur of the modern game, corrupt and just a general

The sooner he's out of his position the better, we need to modernise the game
