Giggs hangs up boots!

Another poignant thing is that with Giggs' retirement I'm now older than every United player.

It's beginning to look as though I'm not going to be discovered and have that 'late bloomer' career I always seemed destined for...

And Mike Phelan - he was here for 25 years or summat weren't he?

Ryan Giggs - a great player who has given so many wonderful memories.

A true club great, maybe the greatest in a long line of greats.

defiantley glad hes come to the right decision though.

Same here. I played football a couple of weeks ago for the first time in about 4 years. I still looked at the sidelines and wondered if there were any scouts watching...

My all time favourite Utd player. If only some of the youngsters here watched him play when he was younger.

1,027 Appearances as a professional / international ( I supose 1031 if you count that GB Olympic side ) - unbelievable.

And Young might leave

Giggsy one was of the reason I decided to support United, when I was 7-8 I had curly black hair, liked to dribble and was very quick, my teacher and my first football coach would ALWAYS say something like "He's like Ryan Giggs this one."

Not knowing who he was i started watching MOTD and Football Focus for the highlights and loved what I saw, not Des Lynam, but Giggsy wreaking havoc against the likes of Spurs & QPR....I was hooked.

I genuinely feel down about his retirement
