lufcGermany: Very observant of you to note West Ham didn't win many games in the Premiership last season - that could explain why we're in the Championship!
Leeds sporadically having a good game against a Premiership team doesn't really mean much. Blackpool have won more games against Premiership teams in one season than you've done in a decade, but that counts for nothing now.
The point is that West Ham have a squad that recently played in the Premiership. Although we let many players go, most of those we brought in were from Premiership clubs (such as Bolt-on). That is no guarantee of anything. However, if I was a neutral, I'd much rather have the squad of West Ham than any other in this league, and certainly over one that comprises Championship and former League One players.

myhammers, lufcGermany was right you never won much in the premiership, the highest you ever got was fifth and that was back in 98/99. You were just easy points for the top teams. As for Leeds when we were in PL we were always in the top 5 apart from the last few years when we were in financial problems.
Hope it will be a good game on Sunday, not ruined by some stupid ref. MOT

myhammers!..it seems you have misunderstood what I'm saying!..
I know west Ham have a strong team!..
The thing I was saying, and I'll try and make it so I can understand it!..
You wrote, "We've not done too bad either against Premiership teams in the last 10 years or so!"
And I replied, "The or so, is that the last year, because there's where you haven't done to good have you?..
The thing is, a premier team doing their job and doing well against premier teams is how their meant to do it!.."
Well like you said, I noticed but I think most did!..
You said, "I believe West Ham have too much quality for Leeds."
Then I said, "A league one/championship team doing it is like saying your "West Ham have too much quality for Leeds" is not really true is it?.."
That means something like a few better premier teams thought that as well, and were suprised and said we gave a lot more then they thought we would!..
The then Liverpool manager said if he haden't known he wouldn't have believed they were playing a "league one" club!..
ManU came out with a lot of confidence, Tottenham had to do it in 2, and Arsenal did in 2 after surviving a scare at their place!..
"Leeds sporadically having a good game against a Premiership team doesn't really mean much."
That's an odd one, "One!" 4 better teams then your's and 3 of them when we were a league one team!..
"Blackpool have won more games against Premiership teams in one season than you've done in a decade, but that counts for nothing now."
Well spotted, they have done better then us, "a decade".... I would have liked for them to stop up but they didn't, therefore their not good enough either!..
Usually teams that come down should do better then the teams that are here, because for starters the Premier League like to give them a nice going away present!..
Not right on the teams here but an unfair advantage for them taking the drop, helps them get the better players as well!..
What I was saying, is you letting the whole league know you think you'll "hammer" us, is that we like these sort of games and that if you think your quality is to much for us, it could come back and hurt you more then you think!..
"if I was a neutral, I'd much rather have the squad of West Ham than any other in this league,"
So that means you'd be a West Ham fan but don't say anything!..
I'd have thought a "neutral" would be more for the club they thought had less chance, or the smaller of the clubs playing!..
"and certainly over one that comprises Championship and former League One players."
Exactly the sort of players that week in week out are going to make your life hell!.
You've already lost one game, I hope your not thinking that cant happen again!..

lufcGermany: Re the 'neutral', what I meant was that, from an objective perspective, most people would rather have West Ham's squad over any other in this division.
A team in the Premiership is more likely to underestimate you than a team in the Championship, as was the case with Man Utd etc. I doubt we'll be complacent, especially after our first game vs Cardiff.
I've gone on record before to say that I do not think West Ham will necessarily win this league. Even though most have us as favourites (bookies, pundits, other fans), I'd gladly settle for winning the play-off final, just like we did the last time we had the favourites tag in the Championship.

myhammers!..I've put West Ham down to win this League, but it won't be a stroll in the park, and teams will show that the quality you talk about is not the quality that was meant to keep you up, and that quality might not be bad, but there are players down here with similar quality, and life is going to be harder then people think for everybody!..

"if I was a neutral, I'd much rather have the squad of West Ham than any other in this league,"
Oh dear, the quality of the x-premier teams is much better then the quality of what is already here!..
Not bad for a team with its main strikers out with own goal specialist and a bunch of players that cant score from the spot!..
Maybe the premier quality should have shown us how ts done!.
Maybe next time eh?.
"and certainly over one that comprises Championship and former League One players."

lufcGermany: You're using one isolated result to substantiate an argument.
Leeds played above themselves, whilst it was a very poor performance from West Ham. If Leeds were as good as you say, they'd be in the Premiership, and not mid-table Champonship. Real quality means being able to perform well throughout the season, and not just for the big games.
Anyway, Leeds approached this game as if it were a Cup Final and deserved to win.

myhammers!..the tripe you wrote about your so called premier quality, and what you are saying now, thats just the bias touch that most have!..
I've said to you, your quality you talk of from your x-premier team is no better then the quality in the top half teams of this league, and if you think you were a cup final to us, then you'll have a lot more like that!..
Like I've said, I think West Ham will win this league, but I can tell you, our cup final your thinking of, we have done that a lot of times, and against better teams then you!..
Our problems are like you saw today, own goals and penaltys, we're so good at them others win because of them!..
