Apparently we will be making a £10M bid within the next couple of weeks. His role will be more DM than out wide for us.
Ps: for those that have been calling me out, I have been on holiday but very happy with Saturdays victory. Feels great to win a trophy again and the parade, which I was initially against, turned out to be excellent for the fans.
Thoughts?
James Milner

seriously, the rumor is , Wenger has 100 Mil to spend, lets not waste it on a City reject and get a proper CM as the poster suggested
City reject???? I don't think you will find a city fan that wants him to leave.
He's brilliant, I really can't see how Garcia gets in ahead of him.
I totally want him to stay.

This smells like a player agent generated story.
a) Man City have agreed to FFP sanctions. That includes a homegrown requirement. City are desperate for homegrown players. Its more likely they will give Micah Richards a new contract just for the sake of it. So to sell one? Doesn't make much sense.
b) As much Milner could play in the middle in a defensive role, he has never played that before and I doubt that Wenger will risk our progression on such a large risk.
c) Milner has seen City's FFP problems and I think its spin so that he gets a new contract.

Im glad the players won the fa cup it would have been terrible if the players let him down he deserves it he's gone through nearly 9 years of hell lets just hope he spend big on the right players in the summer now and push on from this and win some more trophys otherwise it will be the same negativity we've seen over the last few years.

When we have our customery injury epidemic next season, a Milner type player would be very useful

How can Milner be underrated when everyone on here is saying he is underrated.
He is a good player, yes, but he is not a natural DM and is he better than Cazorla, Walcott or Ox on the wings? I don't think so.
This would be a waste of money and I doubt City would be willing to sell to us anyway. If they were then we should get Dzeko off them who is much better than Benzema.

I know the club has a lot more money available these days, but do we really have that much that we'd even consider throwing £10m of it away on a poor man's Michael Carrick?
I really hope this is just MIlner's agent trying to drum up some interest

wouldn't mind Milner tbh depending on who else we sign, solid, consistent, very good all round player.. more importantly a leader and amazing team ethic and work rate.

As one of our major signings then definitely not.
However, Milner is solid. Can play anywhere
