Liverpool are in Danger

Liverpool have enjoyed an unpredicted upturn in fortunes since the arrival of Brendan Rogers. He has instilled a new belief and hunger in the players, as well as adding a fresh dimension to their game.

However, having believed that they had joined the queue for the PL rollercoaster ride, the fans' ride came to a shuddering halt on the last bend at the realisation that the team has actually boarded the Ghost Train, where their defensive frailties came back to haunt them.

The problem for the Mersey club is that they have now put the frighteners up City and Chelsea, who have the financial muscles to bring in new players. Arsenal have (apparently) become a world super power overnight, overcoming Wigan and Hull to lift the FA Cup with the convenience of never having to leave London to do so (just like in 1950, when, remarkably, they were afforded the same luxury en route to lifting the FA Cup).

United on the other hand have been conspicuous in their absence from the Top Four Party this season, offering a glimmer of an opportunity to other clubs to gatecrash the party. In the end, the top four slots were secured by the Likely Lads of Chelsea, Arsenal and City, with the newly-vacated spot being clinched by Liverpool, who surpasses even their own expectations by clinging on to 2nd place. But with new management at United and more money to spend, it would be a very brave punter that bets against them returning to the coveted Champions League places.

If that were to happen, Liverpool would, in all probability, miss out on fourth spot. Gerrard's career is nearing its last hurrah, and there is every chance that Real Madrid can prise Suarez away from Anfield.

Scary times indeed.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Seems like you are headed straight for the racism card. Just because an article is on the Utd board doesn't make it a United article. Less than a quarter of your articles are remotely about Utd. As a benchmark of civilisation I am not self elected I was chosen by the people. You rightfully shouldn't be bothered whether you match up to my expectations. Other single celled organisms like amoeba dont seem to care so why should you?

I wish this particular 'PenaltySpot' was from The Baseball Ground, circa 1970.

He would then disappear amid a slew of mud, buried beneath a metaphorical miasma of his own putrid smelling prose.....

"And people still wonder why there are groups of people that think certain sections of Liverpool's fans are the dirt of the universe."

I take exception to that comment mate - kindly retract please. Very poor.

Yes I'm sure you do object, because it doesn't paint you as being a shining light.

It's only what certain GROUPS of people have said about certain SECTIONS of Liverpool fans.

So you can argue about it as much as you like, but you really need to take it up with them.

If it's ok for Certain sections of your fans to label someone a simpleton, or a single-celled organism, it is certainly ok for me to pass on information that has not come from my own mouth, but is a fact of life. Whether we agree with it or not, those are the thing that have been said.

Hmmm - no racism card here, but am wondering whether this statement stoops below that level even.

Why stop at racism? Anything which causes you to discriminate against people because they haven't met the criteria that YOU say is acceptable, is no more palatable.

Look over your comments, and you'll see how you have gradually slithered down the pole, becoming more and more personal.

I'm sure if I were a Liverpool fan it would all be better again. I knew you were fickle - but I didn't know you were this bad, really.

And people still wonder why there are groups of people that think certain sections of Liverpool's fans are the dirt of the universe.

How about, shut the fúck up you boring wànker

Are you stupid? You having one cell has nothing to do with racism. The fact that you brought it up out of the blue and your subsequent comments prove that I'm talking to a psycho here. You must be used to slithering up and down a pole yourself. Your comment about Liverpool fans shows your single digit age. I also want to take it up with these 'groups' you talk about. Got a link or an address I can reach them at?
