Assuming the sun was always shining and it was an ideal world, which CL campaigns could United have eventually triumphed in?
Of course, in an absolute ideal world, United would have won umpteen European Cups and Liverpool would have stayed in the Second Division.
But realistically, which are the "ones that got away"?
I am instantly reminded of the robbery in 2004 (in which all the other decent teams had eliminated each other), and the bizarre turn of fortunes in 2010 where United were surely, at the very least, destined for the final.
Of course, if our "successful" period (between 2008-2011) hadn't fallen smack-bang in the middle of Barcelona's, we'd have comfortably collected two more CLs.
It sound ridiculous, but we could be looking at a club with 6 or 7 titles, without too much of a turn in fortunes!
Some may even point back to the disallowed goal in 1969 against eventual winners AC Milan, or the fact that the best team ever to play the game was wiped out in 1958, when they were on the threshold of dominating Europe for a decade.
Any other thoughts?

Make no bones about it, we would have beaten Juve. Or, at least, we were more than a match for them

Yes we can't prove anything, but didn't we beat them that year already? Certainly the year after. And after that!!

No mate they beat us both games that year in the group stage. And If I remember rightly they completely dominated us at the Della Alpi when I think boksic scored.

Whoooooo didn't need to google it. I have a good memory when it comes to united. Especially when it comes to the 90s as I attended a lot more games then than I do now due to work reasons

Oh I see, gotcha.
I still personally think Bayern were the better team that game. Our chances were never that threatening and Bayern contained us fairly easily. Other than the goals Bayern had the 2 best chances both near the end when we were taking risks.
