Do you think 20\20 cricket is bad for the sport?
The format is played all around the world, and the 20\20 leagues seem to generate more interest, more viewers, and more importantly, more revenue for clubs.
I understand the cricketing purists love test cricket, but looking at the financial side of things, allot of counties, 20\20 has been a breath of fresh air. It’s much needed money, and for quite some time, county cricket grounds are regularly full, with families coming to watch a 20\20 game.
The downside is, Test cricket is being played less, Tours involving just ODI and 20\20’s, with 2-3 Tests (sometimes even none) are increasing.
What’s your thoughts? For the game of Cricket ..is 20\20 a good or bad thing??
T20 Impact..good or Bad?

Im pretty much convinced that t20 is here to stay. With all the controvesies and all that, i was amazed by how the turn out of fans was in the UAE, let alone india. For all the matches it was a full house. England have also launched a t20 league and wont be suprised if that becomes a success here. in simple terms if t20 wasnt here then most teams wouldnt be able to afford to play test cricket or odis.

If you think T20 is good for cricket then you obviously don't like cricket. You want to know why people go to watch it, because it has cut out all the boring bits (you know, the cricket) and replaced it with 6 hitting, dancing and radio style jingles.
T20 crowds are full of people who have no interest in cricket the sport and can barely tolerate it as long as Lady Gaga plays after every ball.

And to clarify my previous comments. Sports can be entertaining yes, but people actually care who wins a test match or a game of football, when was the last time you were depressed because your team lost a T20?

The so-called good and serious cricket is not drawing crowds.

Duncan1987 T20 is important and people do care about it. I tend to not care about test matches but I care about T20 and ODI. When Pakistan and England lose ODI and T20 matches I do get upset over it but when they lose test matches I don't really care. The Ashes is probably the only exception though.

If Jos Butler is not a prolific 20-20 player then he wouldn't have brought England so close to win yesterday...
