Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle will battle it out for West Ham's Senegal midfielder Mohamed Diame according to various sources.
I've thought that the Senegalese powerhouse has looked a cut above for the Hammers whenever I've watched them. He's got a fair bit of muscle about him but can actually play a bit as well.
I'm dubious if he'd be an automatic starter at Arsenal or Liverpool, but certainly at squad level I honestly reckon he could do a good turn at any of the top clubs, certainly based on what I've seen in the last 18 months.
Could be well worth making a play for the guy, at 26 years of age he's probably chomping at the bit to make a step-up (with all due respect to the Hammers).
What do you think?

He's a very good impact sub and he plays well in big games when the cameras are on but he wont knuckle down

If we went down this route I'd rather Wanyama. More potential too and Southampton always provide us with talent

Another Diame transfer news....constantly leaked by his dodgy agent.
Why would he leave West Ham when he is getting good wages..
Having said that, West Ham would sell him for £7mil...penny pinching Wenger would just activate his release clause if he wants..

I thought we were meant to be getting him last year but nothing seemed to come of the "Linked to Arsenal" talk. I really hope Arsene doesn't go with Arteta as our main CDM next season, or any more of the seasons to come.
No disrespect, I like Arteta and am more than happy to see him playing in an Arsenal shirt. Just not as our defensive anchor in midfield. We need a player who's always played in that role at the top and done a good job. We won't win the title without one.

Diaby can barely last 60 minutes a season

Diame is at his level. So is Wanyama. Should be aiming higher.

We were linked with Diame last year, can't say I was ever taken with him. Be decent backup I suppose, but if the rumours are true of us looking at Martinez, Carvalho and Emre Can, I think Diame would struggle to get in the side with one of those also joining.
The situation would be much the same at Arsenal. Newcastle could be a good move for him, depending on if they're good Newcastle or bad Newcastle next season.
