Marshall the right tonic!

The highly-rated Marshall became a crowd favourite at Brunton Park last season, making 42 appearances and scoring five goals and being named players’ player of the year and London Branch fans’ player of the year at the end-of-season awards.

--------------------------------

Carlisle were trying hard to get him back for a third successive season, but luckily he chose us. Obviously, his 5 goals state that he's not a prolific goal-scorer, but results show that he could well be the right tonic to get the best out of Madine! It is common knowledge that football is often a case of good pairings, so hopefully this accounts for Madine's 14 goals for Carlisle with so many games to go before signing for us. Who knows how many goals he would have scored had he stayed with Carlisle and had Marshall not broken his ankle.

So two 20 yr. old fledgelings, used to successfully working together, could be just the right tonic to get us back on track. I do believe we still need another new striker, cos Madine/Morrison simply doesn't work, but the future does seem to look brighter considering we still have JJ, O'Grady and Coke (who I believe could still be a revelation if he could get his act together) waiting to make their returns.

Tomorrow's game is probably make or break time for G.M. Unlike some posters on here, I truly hope Meggo (as a true wednesdayite) manages to produce the goods. Both he and his father before him were excellent servants to the club we all love. Other old Hillsborough favourites i.e. Thompson and Wilson failed miserably, even though they had been picked for their degree of success at other clubs. Wilson has even got off to an incredible start with our eternal enemies... the blunts. Could it possibly be something to do with the amount of pressure we put on them? Who better to manage our club than one of our own?

Let's see if Meggo can follow in the path of that other old legendary wednesdayite Wilkinson. Let's get behind him for the next couple of matches and turn things around together.......cos we are all Wednesday, aren't we? UTO!!

I hope he suceeds with us, i really do, yes Im not much of an admirer of him and I belive we could have done better in terms of getting someone in with a better philosphy but in terms of drilling disipline into the players, getting them to work hard for us and not taking any crap from them then yeah we have the right man, I just hope that we start winning, starting Tommorow.

Also you are right about Madine and Marshall, if they played well last year and if Marshall can supply the kind of Service that Madine needs then we will see a different Madine, if they hit it off at Carlisle then they'll hit it off here. Just got to get Semedo and Jesus to pass the ball out wide or to Lines to do his creative play and to not let Beevers/ Jones and Batth to hoof it up so much.

"..... London Branch fans’ player of the year at the end-of-season awards"

Some old bloke from Haltwhistle and his manky old sheepdog! They call him the 'London branch' because he once went on a coach trip to Cambridge!

Hopefully he'll have an instant impact causing the team to rocket off on a 10 match unbeaten streak starting tomorrow with a 3-1 victory to the mighty blue and whites!!

Not impressed with his injury history, simply far too healthy to sign for us.

He's just recovered from a multiple leg fracture suffered in last season's JPT Final, if that's any good

That'll do nicely...

Love to know where you got that one from i-monster? According to Meggo the injury was to a part of the leg that isn't that serious, and according to the Northumberland Star, it was a broken ankle!

Multiple fracture...............'struth....what next?
