My view is Golding has plenty of promise. He has a good first serve. Needs to work on his second serve. His movement needs to improve a bit, and his forehand has too much backswing. But these things can easily be worked on.

His backhand is nice and solid and he has a good mental attitude. He is also good as 17 year olds go.

He could be excellent, but I won't make a prediction. He needs n o extra pressure, he needs time to develop. In the next five years we will see if he has the ability to be a top 10 player, or a solid professional, or not good enough at all.

For a 17-year old (and Brit) tennis player, I thought he acquitted himself well. Mahut is no mug, especially on grass - former finalist at Queen's after all.
