Mata and now Luiz. Mourinho better win something this year.

Surely there must be some kind of clauses like based on appearances or PSG's success?

minididi i know. i didnt like what we saw last season either.
we gotta give mourinho a chance though. i wasnt entirely happy with selling mata and i am stil not happy with that because i stil dont believe oscar is all that he is cracked up to be but 37m was too much to turn down and 50m for luiz again, too much to turn down. i suspect we will be straight in for some top midfielders now. not just one but two.
my wishes for next season are
bench ivanovic and ramires - they get the majority of the ball when starting our attacks from the back and waste it a lot of the time.
buy two top midfielders and two top strikers
play more attacking football with the squad we build in the summer.

I really want to give Mourinho a chance too but every decision he's made so far regarding personnel has taken away my enjoyment as a fan (bar the Matic buy).
Two of my favourite players who happened to be two of our more technical players have both been sold. Our promising striker sent out on loan when he could have easily done a job for us.
Add to that to the fact that our style of play is far from easy on the eye at the moment (in my opinion) and the only time I feel happy watching Chelsea is when we win (funny I know but it used to be more than just winning that mattered).
I seriously hope we invest in a top midfielder (two is wishful thinking tbh). But Mourinho has already said that Ramires will feature more heavily next season if he doesn't keep on getting suspended. Also unless we get a top LB, Jose's love affair with Ivanovic at RB is unlikely to end.
I've kinda just expected the worst when it comes to transfers now. Regarding the midfield, I can totally see us hanging onto Frank and only buying Paulinho. In terms of strikers, I expect Torres and Ba to stay, Lukaku and Eto'o to leave with only Costa coming in.
These buys would definitely not precipitate more attacking football so I can only hope that they don't happen. Otherwise watching Chelsea will become a chore rather than something I look forward to every weekend.

the worst thing is there is a world cup this summer as well so it doesnt look like mourinho will get that much time to work with the squad.
i think mourinho knows the backlash he has faced this season regarding our play. i dont think he's stupid and he has said that we changed our style of play because our top 4 position was under threat. i think roman gave mourinho free reign to do whatever this season as long as he made the champinos league.. next season will be the test for him and i dont think roman will be in a mood to see the same sht we've seen this season, ie scoring only 1 goal against 4/5 relegation opponents we can blame the strikers as much as we want but that doesnt stop the other 9 outfield players from scoring when our striker isnt scoring. collective effort needed next season from the manager and our workhorses.

i really don't understand how the luis sale has made people question jose's position at chelsea.
Jose is a winner for a start, one that has mutual love with chelsea, and the one that we all wanted to return.
Luiz showed some moments of brilliance, but he was a liability. He made some stupid decisions, and i hated his constant shooting from 40 yards. I personally would have taken £20-25m, so delighted with the £40-50m. Hats off to Jose and the background staff for making this deal possible I say!
