Would go so badly it is unbelievable! Why sell when it is hugely successful

Cant comprehend why they would sell it given the weakness in other parts of their business.
Apple would ruin the brand, due their inability to price things low.
Amazon would be my preferred buyer.

Would be a strange move. Not sure what the xbox one sales are like but I guarantee there are plenty like me who got burned with faulty 360's last time and are waiting to see what happens with the new machines.

Have you got a link? Not being funny but this report smells of b$. Couple of reasons - Nintendo couldnt afford it, and M$ wouldnt sell to Apple

The only one of those 4 who i feel could realistically support this is google. And with the acquisition of Occulus could be very interesting.

I can't really see why they'd do it, Xbox looks to be the easy money maker for them.

Thanks for the link derby and as suspected more scare mongering to sell stories rather than any credible statement at the moment. Cherry picking choice statements and then throwing around some theories

Can't see this ever happening. There is just too much going into Xbox One right now and it's WAY too soon for them to give up on it.

New comments today:
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has rubbished the idea that Microsoft intends to sell off its Xbox division.
At the Code Conference, taking place this week in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, and reported on by The Verge, Nadella responded to a direct question about whether there were plans to say goodbye to Xbox at Microsoft.
"I have no intent to do anything different on Xbox than we are doing today," replied the Microsoft CEO. He also said the same thing about Microsoft's Bing division.
Questions about whether Microsoft might spin-off its Xbox business have been doing the rounds since Nokia chief Stephen Elop said he'd consider the move if he ended up becoming Microsoft CEO. Company cofounder Paul Allen's investment group Vulcan Capital, which has a $2 billion stake in the corporation, urged Microsoft to consider spinning off Xbox brand and focus on corporate customers.
Bill Gates has also chimed in on the debate, saying that he wholeheartedly supports Nadella's eventual decision, but a company spokesman explained to GameSpot after these comments that "Microsoft is committed to gaming across multiple platforms with Xbox as the centerpiece of our gaming strategy. We remain committed to Xbox and the millions of Xbox fans around the world."
