Pochettino - My View

I must admit that when he entered the race, I did not want Pocchetino to get the job, but reading more and more about him as speculation grew, I am reasonably happy, and I will give him a real shot.

My preference throughout has been De Boer ever since it became obvious we would not get Van Gaal, but Pocchetino i think does have some key advantages over him.

1. He knows the league
2. He has proven himself in more than one league.

As much as De Boer I think would have been a bigger name for us, which could help attract players, I feel that Levy feels that Pocchetino is more suited to working with the talent that we have at the club, and bring through and grow the young players, which is exactly what he has done at Southampton.

There are a couple of players that I wonder if he will bring with him. I do NOT want Lallana (don't think we would get him anyway), and i definitely do not want Jay Rodriguez. Assuming Shaw is Man United bound, then the other players that would interest me are Lovren, and Schneiderlin. But I would prefer him to assess the squad he has first before trying to bring in former players.

As far as style goes, I think we were all impressed with Southampton's brand of football, so i have no issues there. It seems a similar appointment to Martinez and Rodgers made by Everton and Liverpool, and hopefully he will have similar success.

So, welcome to Tottenham Mario, and PLEASE PLEASE can we give the guy a chance. that applies to Levy and the fans.

COYS!!!

I meant Lyon shifted Lovren, not sure where the bit about signing superstars came from

Just spend it all on Shaw. He might fancy himself as the next Bale

other than suarez, Lallana was the best player I saw live play against us last season, was superb in the first 45 minutes at whl,

I've liked Lallana every time I've seen him. Rodriguez has really developed this year but that injury could be a real problem.

It'll be interesting to see what the new manager thinks of our younger players

Delighted with Mopo. He's exactly the type of progressive young manager we need.

I don't know if it's out of hope but I think Levy knows he's made some big mistakes in recent years and is now ready to give the new man a proper chance.

I'm happy with the appointment, even if its a gamble.

Southampton were great to watch last season. If he can implement that entertaining style and attacking flair in our squad then I'll be very happy.

Can`t help feeling this has a whiff of `flavour of the month` about it, I hope I am wrong.
