What would you guys think if Arsenal brought in Eto'o on a free?
Clearly the guy is really motivated to get one over on Jose and what better way to endear yourself to the Arsenal faithful than to p!ss off Jose and score goals for us.
If Wenger can get the guy back to some sort of form then I would certainly welcome him in as an option and quality depth and let's not forget that in the big games it was generally Eto'o that was chosen to start for Chelsea last season.
I'm aware of his age and that he isn't the same player he once was however he has a wealth of experience and I believe he could still do a job for us and be great for our youths to learn from!
Eto'o?

Good player to have as back up, not much more than that. However he would want 100k+ at least. Im not sure he is worth that, you could get an equally decent player for less wages, or buy a better player, and leave giroud as back up.

It's not the worst idea ever. He's better than Sanogo. As long as another main striker would be bought, getting Eto'o on a free isn't a bad idea.

Surely at his age he would be happy to be on something like 80k a week? Im unsure how much he was being paid at Chelsea but as a back up he has to be better than TGSTEL and surely wages shouldn't really be an issue if he truly is so deperate to join Arsenal and we have all the money that we get told we have.

back up at best, has won it so he could help the younger players & especially Sanogo in regards to predatory instincts.

He is over 30. Wenger never signs long term contracts for over 30s. Look what happened with sagna. If he does get him it will be a year only. We need a long term player. E'to will not want 1 yr at £80k.

He doesn't seem the type to spend much time helping the youngsters along. Maybe that's harsh but he doesn't come across like that.

No thanks

Good player, incredible record in the game, but signing him on a free would give Wenger an excuse not to buy a world class striker stating his squad is full and there is nobody who can make the squad stronger available.

Am I alone in thinking that we would be far better off spending big on a CDM and a pacy LW than all on a striker?
Not very likely but I would imagine we would be a far stronger side if we bought say; Javi Martinez, Griezmann/Di Maria and Eto'o with Theo being a 'new signing' aswell than if we just spent it all on a Benzema type striker and didn't spend adequately elsewhere.
