There is a league table made up from English player contributions and Liverpool came top and City bottom - that means little though.

I guess what scholes is getting at is the fast counter attack and lots of pressing and England certainly have the players to do that.

You cant play that way in Brazil, the heat and humidity will be the downfall of all European teams bar spain who will inflict death by 1,000,000 passes on the competition
----------------------------------------------------------------------

People keep talking about this. How many games are played in brutal heat and humidity? A handful in the group stages. The games around the two main cities will be fine. Evening games will be around 15 degrees with about 60-70% humidity. That obviously rises a bit in earlier games, but it won't affect European teams too much at all. England's first game will be brutal. After that, unless it is abnormal conditions, it will be fine.

I beg to differ but will respect your views. Still feel that the inability to retain the ball will be Englands downfall, no matter how well you press....no team can do it for 90 mins. So will struggle in the heat and humidity that is forcast

My fear is that charging round and closing down in 2-3's as Liverpool do will just not be possible. Against PL teams and in nice winter temperatures it wouldn't be an issue. in temperatures between 20-30 degrees against teams who keep the ball

The fringe players like Lampard and Welbeck will have a problem adjusting to the tempo of the Liverpool style.

FFS frank lampard is surplus to Chelsea's style which is as free flowing as a glacier.

Frank can fetch the water and be a "laaaaaad" around training and the like.

Peno's will come, wheel him on, job done.

Discipline?

Can't even maintain a diet never mind a tempo of team play.

Mourinho agrees.
