the table finished like below last season which is a pretty fair indication of how the season went.
City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Arsenal
Everton
Spurs
Utd
Going into next season what do you think your club needs to do and what players do they need to sign ( be realistic here guys) to have a genuine shot at winning the title.
Next seasons title battle

I agree Darren you don't need a striker.
You already have two top class ones (Roo & RVP) one very good one (Hernandez) one good one (Welbeck) and young Wilson coming through.
You could easily afford to lose Hernandez especially with no Europe (I would sell Rooney personally but that won't happen).

righteous, yeah I agree.
Rooney's a difficult one. I don't rate him as highly as many of my fellow fans, however, I think he could be a top striker if Mata played behind him and we fixed the other weaknesses in the team.
RVP is still a better striker, though. So until RVP leaves, or continues to be crocked, converting Rooney into a cf probably won't happen.

Rooney will never justify his wages! But considering RVP fitness history you cant afford to not have backup!

Should release Rooney so he can come home to Goodison.

Arouna, you'd probably need us to loan him to you and pay 80% of his wages for that to become a reality.

I said release.
Then he is a free agent. ....wishful thinking

Yeah but you still wouldn't be able to afford his wages, hence a loan being a more obvious solution.
I do wonder if he'll fancy going back to Everton one day. Of course he'd have to take a massive wage cut, as why it's more likely he'd end up in America when he's finished, but you never know with Wayne he might just want to stay in the North West.

Are you certain we couldnt afford his wages or that he would want 300k a week to play for his boyhood club?
It was all hypothetical anyway

Well he'd certainly need to take a wage cut. Question us just how much of a wage cut is he willing to take?
Even when he's past it Rooney would be able to command wages that Everton wouldn't be able to compete with. That's why I mentioned America.
But like I said, a lot will depend on whether he's that bothered about getting paid that much and leaving the north west.
I know it's hypothetical, but where Rooney goes after us is still an interesting question. Who knows, he could just pack it all in at the age of 34, he has been playing since he was 16 after all and he's made more than enough money, and will continue to after football.

How many games did Rooney and RVP play together last season? Rooney missed 9 league games and RVP missed 18. The problem is you should have let Rooney go and got someone else in. You'd have saved a few quid on wages too. Welbeck and Hernandez aren't world class.
