Arsenal are looking to appoint German national team fitness coach Shad Forsythe in the next few weeks and have him start work later this summer after the Germans finish their World Cup shenanigans in Brazil.
Funnily enough my knowledge of fitness coach's is limited (non-existent actually), Shad (weird name) is reportedly rated as one of the trailblazers and 'one of the World's greatest' with regards to sports science, conditioning etc... He's been involved with the German national team for 10 years now.
Gazidis spoke a little while ago about the ongoing concern regarding Arsenal's perpetual injury concerns and that the club was actively on the case to find out why so many players consistently found themselves sidelined and that it was a pressing matter to improve on the player conditioning at the club.

Best news in 10 years. Can't believe the club haven't done this sooner. It's been clear for a good 5 or 6 that the current fitness/physio set up is rubbish. Seriously good news here Gooners

I am more interested in the results of the appointment rather than the mere appointment per se. A couple of years ago we celebrated the introduction of some dodgy gadgets for Arsenal players, but the injuries actually got worse and that was the last we saw of the toys.

Have to say I voiced my concern at the time when it was announced said gadgets were manufactured by Moulinex.

I will say, Wenger musing over players physical conditions was interesting, touching on the bizarre. Commenting about how he thought certain players with thinning hair taking supplements to combat hair-loss as potentially problematic.
Gazidis then went on to say that the club has launched an investigation of sorts into the clubs injuries and what could be done going forward. Prevention is better than cure, etc...
An appointment like this would surely be a step in the right direction?
