Betting on Leeds

Look at the date of this post from Billy is God on WACCOE - and then think about the score against Hull on Tuesday before reading the rest. Food for thought...

"Those of you who know me know that never a Leeds game passes where i dont back us to win 4-1, home or away, cup or league, i always back us to win 4-1.

For the last two seasons my stake has been a level £5 per game, in that time we have played 112 games costing me £5 each time, a total stake of £560.

During the last two seasons we have recorded five 4-1 wins all at odds of 28 to 1 or better meaning my return, even at just 28 to 1, has been £700, a profit of £140.

I cant pick horses to save my life but with what i think will be tighter defence this year i predict four 4-1 wins, if we have decent cup runs we could play say 56 games? £5 each game totals £280, four 4-1 wins at at least 28 to 1 returns £560, thats double my spend."

I'd probably stop at £125 profit for this season after Tuesday's result. Last season there were two 4-1 results as far as i'm aware and i wouldn't be confident of many more taking place in a tough division. Obviously he thinks he can make more than double that profit with his prediction for number of 4-1 scorelines.

Sounds like a good system if the results were more consistent, however,

Divide 140 by 52 = roughly, 2 1/2 quid per week. Enough for half a pint maybe.

That amount would increase slightly due to only playing 9 months of the year, means in 9 months of the year you make enough profit to make a pint of beer free, depending on what pub you frequent of course.

That's a pint per week over 9 months.

Can't see it happening with our team Harj,

unless Becchio, Somma and Grella are our strike force.

Fair play to him.

However, I used to know someone who bet on Leeds to win aways in 92/93. Kept on upping the stake each game to recoup his losses, as they were bound to win one at some point.

No idea how much he lost in the end.
