I was watching the England game against Equador last night and on seeing the Ox crumpled up thought the worst... Watching it back it looked pretty innocuous. But with so many sports injuries it's what happens internally that's crucial.
Aside from Chamberlain being the best player on the pitch in Miami yesterday (imo), I did worry for the lad on a personal level as he limped off the pitch.
I'm hearing he needs a scan to confirm the severity of the injury. It could be a small knock/niggle, but there's talk of a 'ligament tear', which will rule the boy out of the tournament and very likely the start of the new Premier League season. Being an Arsenal player, you can't help but fear the worst.
He's not long come back from a lengthy injury period and got himself up to speed. It'll be a tragedy for the lad on a personal level and I think England would miss him.
But are we looking at another young player who is fatally flawed in terms of being naturally injury-prone?

It could be a grade 1 tear that only rules him out for 10 days or so.

I feel sorry for OX. The guy fell on him with intent and should've been sent off. I doesn't look that bad, but no one knows until the scan result comes out. Him and Barkley were the best players.

I can live with that

I've been keeping my egg-powder dry. The market is very volatile and I'm not in the business of trying to compete with those who irresponsibly throw eggs on public forums like rice at a wedding.
If I see an opportunity that warrants an egg, or a relevant emoticon, I assure you, I'll do everything in my power to use it.

Will starting Barkley really improve him? If we crash out in the group stages and everyone gets criticised, or he has a poor tournament, there's every chance it could affect him. Even if he does well, expectations will increase and it's unfair on him.
Plus describing any world cup as a write off is ludicrous. It's THE biggest football event in the world still, and we can still do well without coming close to winning it. What if Greece had that attitude in 2004? And is Barkley really any more deserving of starting for the experience than Ox, Sterling or Lallana? Not imo and it's unfair on those three to be missing out on the biggest event in their careers.

Completely agree Bestie. This is the 2014 World Cup, not the 2018 one
