I feel happier with Pochet

Than I did with AVB. Even though he wasn't the first choice for most of us I somehow feel an air of quiet confidence and anticipation for the new season, more than I ever did with AVB. In fact I'm looking forward to the start of the season which might start well for us.

Pochet wants to sign Julian Green from Bayern who's a winger, it sounds good to me.

Well happy birthday SpursBoy, raising the wrist tonight?

Not sure that he would be much different to Townsend to be honest.

I am optimistic too.

Poch is much like Martinez and Rodgers in the way they play and his career path, which gives some hope.

He works the team hard, they get properly drilled which is what we have lacked IMO.

He also seems very popular with the players.

Saints played a stylish brand of footy focussing on their strengths and their game plan. While you could say the same of Sherwood such an approach, but with a lack of tactical nous was fool hardy and even though we won quite a lot it was rarely convincing.

Thomas muller

Season 2007/2008

Age at end of season: 18 years 8 months

League: 4th tier of german football

Appearances: 3

Goals: 1

Jullian green

Season: 2013/2014

Age at end of season: 18 years 11 months

League: 4th tier of german football

Appearances: 23

Goals: 15

Im not saying he's going to get to the level of thomas muller but the fact that he's clearly outperrforming muller at a similliar age shows that he is atleast worth a punt. I think with muller, gotze ( who can play on the left), shaqiri and all the money in the world to buy a top young winger bayern would be more than willing to sell from anywhere between 1.5 million to 3 million. For me personally a player who's probably been developed by some of the top coaches in the world and with the success of our new training ground and youth set up he would be more than worth that risk. I mean nobody really batted an eyelid when united spent 6 million on an 18 year old league 2 player did they so i do not see a problem of paying a couple of million for a talented young player

Ditto Devon and sir super.

Huddlestone, Townsend lacks consistency.

I agree that consistency isn't his strong point and I'm not entirely sure he has a place in the squad but with Poch coming in he could be a candidate for improvement

After the unbridled optimism of last summer I'm mildly optimistic about next. I'm praying that when the fixtures are published on the 18th we get a good rub of the green and hit the ground running. I (vainly) hope the club will at some point tell us who is going/staying i.e. communicate with us (obviously where they can) and furthermore, do something about our shockingly average defence which really should be a priority.

I'm not sure about this Julian Green fella, ive never heard of him - so will make a judgement as and when anything happens.

As for the article topic, i too have more confidence in Poch than AVB. Previous AVB debates aside, i just think AVB was rewarded for failure by being given the Spurs job, whereas Poch is being rewarded for having proven credentials in the league we play in.

Maybe my faith in Poch is purely wishful thinking or premature - but we have to go with what our gut feeling tells us, and thats all it can be at the moment.
