Will the luck balance out?

I've just seen the full race of yesterdays GP and I have to say that I feel utterly wounded for Lewis. All that hard work he put into closing the points gap to Rosberg and now it's back to square one after ANOTHER DNF!.

I really don't think Rosberg had a great race himself. Nearly put it into the wall and set the fastest lap because he cut the chicane with Lewis all over his rear. Its a joke that he got away with that, but even more of a joke that Lewis now has two DNFs to Rosbergs zero.

I don't want the winner of this WDC to be decided on having the more reliable car. I'll give up on F1 if that ends up to be the case.

He set his fastest lap by cutting the chicane under immense pressure and pulled himself out of the DRS zone. Of course he gained an advantage. Hamilton had close to within half a second and was faster than him the whole race and passed him in the pitstops. Of course he would not have caught him

would Nico getting a penatly have stopped Hamsters brakes from breaking?

I think if he was in clean air, it would not have been a terminal problem

Seems like you are a Hamilton hater. As ManUDD says, Rosberg got himself out of the DRS zone from cutting the chicane extending his gap from under 5 tenths to over a second and a half.

Therefore, Hamilton had to start all over again in trying to claw back the gap again, which he aborted until the next round of pit stops if im not mistaken. No doubt if Lewis complained, people would start saying "Here we go, Lewis spitting his dummy out again".

I was so against the idea of double points before the season started, but seeing how things are panning out, I'm slowly warming to the idea.

It is also great that the last race of the season is at Abu Dhabi not Brazil

My experience is that "luck" does not balance out. Look at how many times McLaren mucked up Hamilton's stops. Did Red Bull muck up Vettel's stops? No. Hamilton lost out. Look at Belgium 2008, Massa donated a charitable win by the FIA. Did the luck balance out? Has Hamilton ever been given a win? No. Look at Monaco when Massa turned in on Hamilton and Hamilton was penalised for Massa causing the accident. That one has never been balanced out. Hamilton lost the 2007 championship when the car that won the first race of that season was using a flexible floor. Was that balanced out? No, the drivers team-mate backed off at the last race for a slower Raikkonen to "win" that year's championship.

Lewis Hamilton was closing on Nico Rosberg every single lap.

Lap 21 gap 1.852 secs
Lap 22 gap 1.325
Lap 23 gap 0.782
Lap 24 gap 0.564

Lap 25 Nico Rosberg cut the chicane and the gap became 1.184.

Every driver that goes outside the defined track lines gains an advantage. It is not necessary to gain a position to gain an advantage.

The gap times above are based on the difference at the start/finish line. Source

Hamilton only got past Rosberg at the pits because Rosberg had a slow pitstop. It was about 3secs slower then hamiltons pitstop.

My word, what an ill informed statement. Did you actually watch the race?
