Take a snapshot of both in their prime..who do you think was better?
Suarez has scored more in a season, but that is also down to the way we play.
Torres shone, in a more defense minded team, playing up top on his own.
Attritbutes:
Ariel Ability - Torres
Shot power Torres
Flair - Suarez
Creativity - Suarez
Finishing - Torres...just.
Work Rate - Suarez
Role:
Striker - Torres
Forward - Suarez
Midfield - Suarez
Disipline - Torres
My Opinion - its difficult. As an out and out striker, I'd take Torres, but Saurez just nips it, due to his work rate and ability to play in different positions.
Also to add - Torres seemed to struggle when deployed with another striker, While Suarez seems to thrive in any formation.
Anyway, just thought I'd throw this out there. Its hot, im bored..and I have googled "Liverpool Transfer Rumours" 3 times already.
Torres v Suarez

"Evidently you don't know that much about the players stated and you're playing the prem card, which I vaguely remember you doing at the time when hyping up Torres."
I haven't played the 'prem card'. I didn't do it then either. You're lying now. Good that you threw in the 'vaguely' though, nice get out card.

Yet Adebayor scored the same amount of league goals as Torres.
No you wouldn't get a player scoring that many in this league now as there's not the disparity between Barca, Madrid and the rest as Messi and Ronaldo have got better and the league got worse - but when Torres first moved to the prem the disparity wasn't as big as it is now.
I agree Torres was unplayable at his best, never said he wasn't, just don't think he was as good as the players I mentioned and only had one outstanding season.
TOOR, we aren't going to agree.

I'm not saying he wasn't unplayable. I'm just saying he wasn't the best.
Yeah Drogba is another that was better than Torres as well. That's where I feel people are overrating Torres, as they did at the time, because, like you see TOOR here throwing his toys out of his pram, they did the same if you didn't rate Torres as the best striker in the world - well, I don't think he was even the best striker in the prem, despite being a class striker.
We'll never agree on this I guess. Never really bought into the Torres hype. Of course he was immense, but he didn't do enough for me to be mentioned above those players.
And this isn't a United/Liverpool thing by the way, which TOOR seems to think. I think Suarez is the best player in the league and probably the third best player in the world behind Messi and Ronaldo - never thought the same about Torres.

I threw my toys out of the pram?
I gave my opinion and facts to back them up. You gave your opinion then started calling me deluded and told me you weren't playing with me anymore because you didn't like what I said.
Wow, just wow.

It wasn't because I didn't like what you said. It's because I couldn't be arised to go around in circles with you on a position neither of us are going to change on.

Toor,
There is no doubting the quality Torres showed at the club when his star was burning at it's brightest, but trying to sugar coat his exit is a bit much considering what he said a couple of weeks before he handed in his transfer request.
"More than ever, we need to stick together,”
“We must live in the present, from match to match".
“We need to add more points, win matches and improve our standing in the table.
“That is our challenge and I demand the total help of our supporters in doing that.
“My head is in Liverpool and on helping save our season. I am professional and I always fulfil my deals.
“I haven’t considered leaving, although in football that depends on the club"
What a load of sheight Especially when you factor in the fact that he basically downed tools prior to his exit (except in the game against Chelsea).
All water under the bridge now though of course, but thankfully the boat sailing on this water was carrying a cool £50m. It's a shame the boat crashed onto the rocks, losing 35m in the process , and just how a lame geordie donkey managed to wander on deck, before falling on it's ar(s)e, still leaves me scratching my head in disbelief.

I didn't sugarcoat his exit, I told it like it was. He wanted to leave as we began to sell our best players and the club was going backwards due to the owner situation.
I know what he said, maybe he meant it at the time and changed his mind, maybe he didn't. One thing is for sure, he gave us more than Alonso did, more than Mascherano, yet people blast Torres, want Mascherano back at the club(I include myself in that, loved the player) and give Alonso god status. I feel the reason for this is due to the affection we had for Torres, it was much greater than the aforementioned two players and thus some people took it very badly.

Basically he said he was staying, asks the fans for unity then a whole two weeks later does a complete u turn. Then when he signs for Chelsea he says he's joining a "big club".
Sorry but that showed a distinct lack of class and unsurprisingly he was slaughtered for it. The sad thing is he brought it on himself.
Great player( or certainly was) but the way he left us and the comments before and after was utterly classless and that's why he got the stick. The abuse he received at the time was OTT, but after what he said, combined with the fact he basically downed tools under Hodgson, he made a rod for his own back. Football fans are hardly the most forgiving.
