Kenny has to play Aqualani and Meriles (not sure if spelt right) against Arsenal.
Aquaman was our best midfielder by a country mile in pre-season. Arsenal play will suit him.
Mereles will close Arsenal down quickly and also keep them honest with his forward movement. Along with our more attack minded set up now i do think this game will not be a draw. Arsenal were not a one man team and they still have a good side so i see it as a win for either team but no draw.
Kenny you have to play these 2 today

Legendary,
Did Johnson play right wing in pre-season then?
If not, then your post is a bit contradicting & a tad hypocritical.

"obsession? did you not watch pre-season games? do you know anything about what movement is; ball control and making the right pass at the right time?"
So he impressed against a couple of pub teams in Asia, a Norwegen team and that makes him a first teamer? Adam was also impressive and actually has a track record where he performed in the prem. He is not good enough to play central midfield and we have Suarez playing the 2nd striker role so he is out of the team for me. I'd keep him on the bench.

However a fiver says it'll be -
....................... Reina ....................
Johnson ... Carragher ... Agger ... Enrique
.. Kuyt ...... Lucas ... Adam ..... Downing ...
............ Suarez ........ Carroll ..................

A more relevant question might be will Aqua even be on the bench? I don't think he will.

i have put my team up and yes i have put some players that are in dif positions, rationale? i think it's the team that we would need to play aqua and meriles properly so they can take the game to arsenal

The team I would like to see is the same as last week, except Kuyt instead of Henderson and probably Kelly on for Flanno (but I have no objection to Flanno if picked as I think last week was a blip).

Legendary Red or Dead
"do you know anything about what movement is; ball control and making the right pass at the right time?"
Yes. I do. Are you trying to be condescending?
Question is, do you know anything about the business side of football? Can you not see what Kenny is trying to build? Your naive insistance on Alberto playing clearly suggests you don't.
Aquilani was not part of the team when Kenny took over in January due to being on loan. Now returning, he is effectively a new transfer. Now look at the players Kenny has signed since his appointment about 8 months ago; Carroll, Henderson, Downing, Adam. Then there's the likes of Flannigan, Robinson, Spearing all getting more games. Can you not see a massive shift of transfer policy from the Houlier/Benitez days? Kennys signings are all British, and on the whole young. Alberto, our "new signing" sticks out like a sore thumb as a none conformist to the new regieme and so blatently not part of the masterplan.
From the footballing business aspect; there has been rumblings that Alberto will be sold even before his loan spell ended. In all likelyhood he probably does want away, and in reality who could blame him? Injured on arival, shipped out when fit! He probably still needs his sat nav to get to Melwood! "But he was so good pre-season", the broken record continues to play; and we have to look at why. Well, its not called 'the shop window' for nothing. Wanting away, his objective was to raise the bar in these games, get more column inches, turn heads - carpe diem if you like. Management played him pre-season so he was able to achieve - good performance correlates with higher profile clubs and a higher price tag, win for club, win for player.
The above reasons are logical and probably not at all far from the truth, and lets be honest, enforced by him not even making Kennys bench in the opening 2 games. Or prehaps you have an alternative perspective on Kennys decision?
Charlie Adam is an excellent distributer of the ball with premier league experience. His British style of play (in comparrison to Albertos continental approach) compliments those players around him with very little European experience, especially those he is supplying - Downing & Henderson wide and Carroll up top. He is not afraid of a tackle and proved last season that he has a great work rate along with a wicked distance shot. He plays over Aquilani every day of the week.
As for Johnson on the right wing, one question; Glenn Roeder, Gianluca Vialli, Jose Mourinho, Harry Redknapp, Tony Adams, Rafael Benitez, Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish have not played Glen Johnson in right midfield for any sustainable period of time, why do you think this is?

meireles was quality as per article, just need aquaman on soon, we have a few more gears to go througth yet.
Oh by the way, am not bothered weather managers have or have not played Johnson on the wing, i am putting my point across, i think he will be a smash.

No, you're not putting your point across. You simply made a statement, worlds apart mate!
"am not bothered weather managers have or have not played Johnson on the wing"
I put across great arguments, validating them were possible. The point I put across included the bigger picture, on and off the pitch, not just demonstration in what "movement is; ball control and making the right pass at the right time", and that is your level of debate and remonstration? What is the point of you writing an article on a forum if you brush off any comments that don't match your thoughts and fail to engage in any of our input onto the matter you wish to discuss? I think you're looking for a blog mate, not a forum.
Yes, Raul was brilliant when he came on, though I do think his success on the pitch today was, to an extent, related to Suarez and his great work off the ball, making Meireles work much easier - again, yes, he did a great job and provided a much needed link between midfield and attack. You'll see Aquilani playing again in a few weeks; either at another club or being utilised by us should we fail to sell/loan him.
