its been a while but "clubs UEFA rank above West Ham" is back for its early summer edition.

For those of you unfamiliar with this series, UEFA have an official rankings table each season, where they list their top 453 clubs per season.

All the big clubs are on there.

Real Madrid 1st, Man U 6th, Juve 16th,

Spurs slot in at a very respectable 19th, ahead of Man City, Liverpool, Ajax, Napoli, and one or two other big boys.


West Ham do not feature in the top 453 clubs.

Todays episode will look at one of those clubs that UEFA hold in higher regard than West Ham.


I introduce to you gentleman, FC Astana, of Kazakhstan.

Slotting in at number 403, FC Astana are infinitely higher ranked than West Ham, who as I said earlier, do not feature on this list. This is despite FC Astana only having been in existence for 5 years

Here is a bit about them


Football Club Astana is a professional football club based in Astana, Kazakhstan. Astana plays in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the top tier of the Kazakhstan football league system. They are member of the Astana Presidential Sports Club

The club formed as the result of a merger between FC Alma-Ata and Megasport in the beginning of 2009 as FC Lokomotiv Astana.
