World Cup Fever

The World Cup Fever seems to hit me later and later as the years pass by.

It hit 4 days before the 2010 KO and it took 3 lions on the radio to get me going.

It has hit me big time this morning. Watching the Brazilian dancing girls and filling in a World Cup Prediction sheet has triggered it. I now feel like it's the morining of a Forest match at home. Nervous energy is coursing through me, I need to run but I have to sit and work (well, apart from this obviously).

We have the opening match tonight then tomorrow is football heaven starting exactly at 5pm when work stops and finishing at 1am with Spain v Holland nicely sandwiched in the middle.

I can't see England doing anything but just imagine if they could!

So, has the fever hit you? What where you doing when it did?

Maybe this will be the world cup where Rooney shows us how much he's worth.

Give him the first half on sat and see how he does, if he's not doing it sub him off and see if that gives him a kick up the rear

If he once steps foot in his own half then he'd be off. I am sick of see him on the edge of our box.

I think Rooney may well be better off on the left wing, like last Saturday. At least there he can pick the ball up in space and try to get others involved. I would have Sterling off Sturridge so at least we have players getting in behind the striker.

I think Rooney would be better off shutting his fat gob instead of crying in the papers because Paul Scholes doesn't think he's the best thing since sliced bread.

Besides that I am looking forward to the tournament since it will put an end to those interminable "top 10 world cup moment"/"greatest world cup 11" lists that have been doing the rounds in the absence of any proper football to talk about.

And look at how it is already bringing us together.

Looking forward to Eng v Italy. My missus is Italian so there's a big group of us having a curry first, several beers then watching it at an Italians house.

Should be a good atmos

Also, I took a Groupon deal yesterday where paddy power were offering 'enhanced odds' of 6/1 (normally 2/1) for an England victory. I had a tenner on it

Come on England!!!!!!
