Thought i'd kick this off seeing as we're only a couple of days off.
For me, this is the last chance saloon for Rooney. If he doesn't play well on Saturday then i'd drop him for Barkley. Players should be picked on form and not on reputation.
The back 4 worries me but we don't have much of an option. Johnson is a liability but is still first choice.
I'd pick Sterling even if Wellbeck is fit. Danny's form has deserted him and I would've been tempted to not select him in the squad altogether.
I'm also not convinced by Lallana of late. He looks a very tidy player but has contributed nothing in the way of assists or goals recently. He'll need to do better if he wants to keep his place when AOC is fit again.
So my starting line up would be:
Hart
Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines
Sterling Gerrard Henderson Lallana
Rooney
Sturridge
This is obviously open to anyone so please feel free to contribute!

Rooney was told to 'do a job' but he wasnt able to do it because Pirlo moved around too much and Rooney got tired out chasing him all over the field.
did you even watch that game?

Oh yeah. Pirlo, the player famed for his great 'engine' and athleticism. Did you watch the game?

we parked the bus and let Pirlo walk around uncontested
Rooney wasn't marking him
the tactics were create 'Roy's wall' and keep them from getting inside our 18 yard box, otherwise Italy could have the rest of the pitch.
disgusting to watch but in fairness the tactics worked. they didn't score.

Spot on Kaiser. Good to know somebody else was watching the match.

I'd rather play with no fear than to pick a team purely based on negating a 35-year-old who plays at walking pace.

I'd agree if this was a must win game but I see it as a must not lose game.
I reckon this is our toughest group game. A draw against Italy puts us in a strong position especially given that we've got Costa Rica last!
