I hope he recovers fully and remembers important things. Also it is important Michael gets his weight back up to scratch. Soon as Michael Schumacher was quite fit before the incident and still quite young I hope he recovers by the end of this year fully in time for his birthday in which he missed last time due to coma. It could be 3-4 years time but at least Michael has fighted a long 6 & 1/2 months in coma and now is awake.
Neurosurgeon Tony Belli told the BBC that rehabilitation from this sort of injury could take months or years.
"We know that some people can spend three, four years in rehabilitation," he said. "It depends very much on the severity of the injury, how young and fit they are."

I just hope he makes it back to a reasonable level of mental health.
Decades of driving dangerous cars and this happens when he retires. Shame indeed.
His dedication to F1 and improving himself cannot be overemphasised

thanks for the heads up ,
you would hope with the incredible care he will now receive because of his massive status he will come out the other side of his terrible journey the same person he was before his misfortune --

I really hope he does make a good recovery. However I do fear the worst.
All we have been told is he is no longer in a coma, and that he has been transferred to a Hospital nearer home.
That doesn't mean he is at a level of consciousness that would allow much interaction with his family, who I feel desperately sorry for. There but for the grace of God and some brilliant surgeons and doctors etc. go I.
My prayers are still with them all.

Brain injuries are so different in each case that it is impossible to forecast the long term outcome from an event of this nature. You just can't tell, anything is possible. My best wishes to him and his family and friends.

True POB, look at Matthew Pincent. The external injuries were much more severe than MS, and one would think the damage to his brain would have been more severe. Yet he has made a remarkable recovery. You never know.....

Good luck Mick and fair play to the wife, family and team for the dignity they have show, in what must be a very harrowing time.

Michael Schumacher leaves hospital for home care
Breaking news
Former F1 champion Michael Schumacher has left a Swiss hospital to continue his recovery at home, his manager says.
She said in a statement there was "a long and difficult road ahead".
The ex-F1 champion suffered a head injury in a skiing accident in France last December and has been in the Swiss hospital since June.
Schumacher's family in June announced that he was no longer in the medically induced coma he was placed in to reduce swelling in his brain.
