The Metropolitan Police have said that using the word ‘Y’ at White Hart Lane is no longer an arrestable offence.
The police were asked for their position on the controversial term by Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust (THST) in a police and safety forum meeting last Monday.
However, Constable Steve Payne, Football Intelligence Officer for the Met, said fans could still be arrested for using the word if a complaint was made against them.
He added that there was a difference between anti-semitic holocaust songs directed at Spurs fans, which he said was an offence, and Spurs fans singing the Y-word, which was not.
This just part of an article covering the matter. The rest of the report can be found below.

Great to finally put this matter to bed. Unfortunately the Y word isn't allowed on 606 so have had to alter the first bit.Thoughts?
Spurs fans free to use the 'Y' word

Finally, it seems, you can't just claim to be offended by something and expect action to be taken.

And if/when it's shown that the word was not used to cause offence, no charges will be brought.
People who make those types of complaints are morons, finding an excuse to be offended so they can complain.

Even if it does cause offence, I think that no charges should be brought. Feeling offended doesn't cause harm, loss, or injury. Nothing bad happens to a person when they feel offended.

Totally agree.

Flashy flibble
What's the big deal? Thudd chooses not to sing it and has his reasons. He's not preaching those reasons so why make him justify it?
Apparently Sandy Brown does not go to any matches these days, he has his reasons, but Thudd constantly tries to belittle him and make him justify his reasons for not going to WHL. Thudd can give it it, but not take it.
