Current transfer stories...

The strongest links for Man Utd at the moment seem to be;

- Vermaelen (Arsenal)
- Shaw (Southampton)
- Gaitan (Benfica)

Obviously its a waiting game for United fans, but these links are far from exciting.

The Sneijder may be on again.

.........\\

I Sneijder relevant anymore? His star doesn't seem to be shining that brightly these days.

Interesting that yet again strongest links are not CM's.

When will this club finally address this situation.

The Konoplyanka rumours died down. I liked the look of him. Very quick and direct with good feet and a trick up his sleeve. Always puts the defender on the back foot. Cheap too.

Whats the conscensus on fabregas. Did the club just not bother or were they told not to bother because of the CL situation or because fabregas wanted to move back to london.

- Vermaelen (Arsenal) - Please God no!
- Shaw (Southampton) - No comment before I get attacked
- Gaitan (Benfica) - WTF

Difficult to say. Probably a combination of factors. What his transfer does suggest though is that our attempts to sign him last summer were not so futile after all.

I never bought in to those who ridiculed the idea that he might be available. He wasn't - as we now know - an unattainable target by any means. Few players are, quite frankly.

what clouded the issue last summer were the ridiculously low opening bids made by the club which created the possibility that barca and possibly fabregas himself thaught the club were loballing and taking the pizzaz

I think between the low bids and Barca's management situation at the time, we didn't give ourselves much chance.
