After this World Cup, in which no doubt we will fail again. I believe we need a clear out. Anyone approaching 30 needs to be dropped, they've had enough chances to produce at big Tournaments and never done it so it's time to bring through the Younger players in the next qualifying campaign.
I believe the likes of Gerrard and Lampard will retire from international football anyway, but I think Baines, Jagielka, Lambert, Rooney, Glen Johnson, Cahill should all be taken out of the picture and start a fresh with the new generation like the Germans did a few years back.
This would still leave us with a squad like:
Hart, Butland, Forster
Walker, Stones, Jones, Smalling, Caulker, Shaw, Garbutt
Townsend, Henderson, Barkley, Wilshere, Oxlaide Chamberlain, Walcott, Allana, Sterling
Sturridge, Rodrigez, Welbeck, Wickham, Berahino
Not far off the current squad in my opinion and these lads can grow into a Team over the next few years in the lead up to Euro's and then the next World Cup.
Time for a clear out

I don't agree with 'retiring' from international football
play until you stop getting selected. If it's best for the national side for older players to move on that's the managers decision

kneerash, Gerrard has said it many times that he will think about his future after WC which basically means he will retire and focus on domestic and CL football. I think it will be the right decision too.

Ah fair enough Kash I've not seen many of those comments, I hope he does retire but he does love playign for England and obviously Roy loves having him as captain and leader (no matter what anyone sauys about hsi performance level you cannot argue that Gerrard is not a great captain and a huge positive influnce on any team).
If Roy wants him to continue and puts a convincign argument forward he could stay on, but I personally hope he doesn't and he just looks to play well for us.

Baines won't be 'discarded'

Where's Flanni Alves? Or is he retiring as well?

Feck me that squad is awful.
Why would you drop Cahill? He's the only one who even approaches quality at the back.
I would have thought Gerrard will retire as he will have more games this coming season. If England get to the quarters I think he breaks Beckhams record as well.

England needs an inspirational "home grown" manager who can start building the next world cup team as soon as the tournament in Brazil ends. Someone who is an innovator, a risk-taker and someone whom the players really WANT to play for! A new manager should be the top priority for the F.A.
Let this manager sort the player situation out as part of his first job duties.

We should have an In/Out referendum on most of these players and a lot would get and Out.

Drop the Liverpool and United love-in and England will begin to flourish once more.
Johnson
Rooney
Stirling
Wellbeck
Sturridge
Gerrard
All a big pile of steaming cack.

Roy should go. It was a mistake giving him the job.
Hes done his best but he's hardly the inspirational coach.
