Maybe I should blame Roy, but why are these 2 sat so deep in front of the defence if they don't actually help the defence at all? Granted the positioning of both full backs has been shocking in both games.
Johnson and Baines have contributed to the defensive lapses by taking up some weird position in defence but gerrard and henderson surely must make up for this.
I am aware England had little to chose from with Wilshere and Barkley so erratic but why cant them 2 simply do their job. They aren't offering anything in attack at all.
Cahill and Jags are inexperienced but have done as well as they can under these circumstances.
uruguay were worse than Italy in my opinion, at least Italy controlled the game.Uruguay got gifted the game by poor defensive shape and Suarez brilliance.

poor decision not to take Cole. and frankly if Cahill went they should have called up Terry to play alongside him, forget how much of a media backlash that would have caused, it's a tried and tested partnership

They were sitting far too deep to contribute to the attack and thats down to Roy. As a result, we were slow in building attacks and lookes toothless. Henderson defended OK, but gerrard was poor. If gerrard plays, it has to be in a three imo
