Thread below expressed my fear that Gerrard would play again.

Many responded backing him, wondering what he'd done wrong. Talking up what he has.

Henderson was doing all of Gerrard's running throughout, yet he's getting a lot of the flak. Not fair on a bright talent. No bite in midfield to partner Henderson's running.

The odd sideways pass from Gerrard was all we had today. We needed our big players again, to stand up and be counted. Gerrard once again, fails to turn up. Rooney's poor performance the other day clouded Gerrard's, but there's no hiding place for him now.

Do us all a favour Gerrard - retire. Take it out of Hodgson's hands, because he hasn't the bottle to drop you.

Said it before, Brendan Rodgers is a genius. Playing a brand of football that shields Gerrard's weaknesses from exposure. Hodgson can't do that - he hasn't got enough time to form that.

Pity.
