Our first 11 was made up of a bunch of players that haven't really won anything, apart from Rooney and Gerrard, i think the rest of the team was made up of guys who played decent for their teams, this year, but don't really have any experinence of doing it on any big stage.
For me, there was too big a LFC infulence on the team too, they played well this season but didn't win anything and the main reason they done so well was due to Suarez.
Too much failures in the England squad.

AFC, Suarez also played for us when we finished 7th and 6th two seasons in a row. Last season numerous players stepped up like Henderson, Sterling and Sturridge and Gerrard was given this new role in a 3 man midfield.
The only case to be made was Wilshire for Henderson. Had Wilshire not had an injury before WC he would have easily got in before Hendo although Roy should have played a 3 man midfield.
The other Liverpool players pick themselves.

Fair enough Kash, maybe i shouldn't have singlened out all the LFC players, just Henderson, there was no creativity in the middle with him there.

Again this was a fault on the manager's part: Either play Henderson to his strengths if you're gonna use him, otherwise use someone more suited to that specific role, such as Wilshere

we need a new manager

The English team failed when it was built with MU players, with Tottenham players, Chelsea players and now finally with Liverpool players.
The solution - build it with Arsenal players. We are winners, we win trophies.

The choices in the main areas are not great.
Cahill and Jagielka are the best English CBs available, yet neither are top class.
Gerrard is not a DM or a deep lying playmaker, but we have no alternative.
Sturridge is not really the right sort of striker to play in the formation we went with, with pacy wide men you really need someone who is going to drop deeper and play these wingers in.
The formation was wrong, and players were pushed into roles they are not at a high enough level to perform in as a collective.
Should have gone with a 3 man CM, but even then without the right options of players we were pretty stuck.

We should have built the team around Man United players more than we did - Cleverley, Carrick, Jones, Smalling, Rooney. At least they have experience in the CL this season.
