Does it matter? Everyone goes on about giving the youngsters a chance and all that BS. The youngsters are rubbish sorry lads. Sterling is average. Can't control or pass. Same for the rest of them.

Not that we can't succeed with average players. We need to play a defensive system and try to grind out wins with set pieces and counter attacks.

But our "exciting young players" are rubbish lads sorry.

Nothing surprises me with that fool Hodgson in charge.

Also, I find the way Gerrard has said he will decide about his international future over the summer rather presumptuous, he should be told by England managment in no uncertain terms that his England career is over.

That goes for Johnson, Lampard and Lambert also.

Hodgson's fault? I am guessing you blamed Capello too, and Sven and whoever else? Us blaming Capello was the most comical. It would be like Swansea hiring Fergie and then deciding he was a shocking manager after he came 7th in the league.

Agree with TBlock. Especially the stick Capello got. Totally unfair when in all honesty the players are over rated. If I owned a club I'd be snapping up players from these so called "weaker nations" for peanuts. I know I could pay them a fair but not Rooney style wage and get more out of them as they are hungry. Algeria , Costa Rica and Chile have been very impressive.

The players learn nothing. Never do. This learning for the future excuse has been used for decades. What is it they have learned? They've learned that they are not good enough no matter who's in or who's manager

The acid test for the older players is for the England manager to say :

You won't probably be at Euro 2016.
But during this period of transition, you may be required to help the kids thru the qualifying games. If you are happy to be called upon on this basis, I would be grateful. If not, then no hard feelings and thank you for your service to the national team.

However I do agree that this is an easy cap for Lampard, but then again the number of caps given out to players is ludicrous.

In the RAF, you get a cap once you have represented the RAF National Team at least 3 times, not once as you do England.

Why don't we give another goalkeeper a chance. Joe Hart, nice guy, is too often shaky at best. Why not give another 'keeper some world cup experience?

Why should Gerrard be deciding his international future, does he pick the fecking team. If Hodgson had any baaaalllls, he would tell Gerrard that he won`t be picking him ever again.
