The class of 1966

When we won in 1966, SIX of the eleven England players were from teams who had finished 11th or lower in the 1965/66 Div. 1 Championship:

Wilson Everton (11th)
Hurst, West Ham (12th)
Moore, West Ham (12th)
Peters, West Ham (12th)
Ball, Blackpool (13th)
Cohen, Fulham (20th)

Gordon Banks' Leicester finished 7th and only FOUR of the team came from what would now be CHAMPIONS LEAGUE qualifiers:

Hunt, Liverpool (1st)
Charlton Jack, Leeds (2nd)
Charlton Bobby, Man U (4th)
Stiles, Man U (4th)

Imagine that happening today with the current England "Superstars"?????
