Hamilton's pitstops worse than Massa's?

Hi,

I watched the highlights show of the Austrian Grand Prix yesterday evening, and was struck by a discussion after the race between Suzy Perry and Allan McNish where they were discussing the 7 tenths of a second that Massa lost in comparison to Bottas in his pitstop and that this in their opinion cost Massa the podium over his team mate.

No mention of the 1.9 seconds that Hamilton lost in the pits in comparison to Rosberg though? This if you compare to the Massa/Bottas situation which they discussed in far more depth that I expected may I add, surely should have in their opinion cost Hamilton the win on Sunday?

Considering that the beeb are usually quite bias towards british drivers (fair enough ) I found it strange.

Bitter grapes from me? Maybe! I'll hold my hands up to that. But yea I don't know why they were making so much of a fuss over Massa, when Hamilton had clearly been more affected with his slow(er) pitstops.

Waffled on there a wee bit.

They brought Lewis in before Nico, which is against Mercedes policy because they were looking to jump the Williams'. So they were quick enough in the pits to jump the Williams but not quick enough to jump Nico as Nico would have been upset.

I have watched both pitstops again, watch the front jack man and the time he drops the car. Has nothing to do with positioning.

Conspiracy.

Not a conspiracy as such, just not compromising Nico's lead.

Hamilton getting spanked yet again, and out come the conspiracies.
Always cheated, never defeated.

I'm amazed that a driver lost 1.5 secsin the pits and there is no discernible difference with his positioning as none of the pitcrew moved or tried to adjust their positions because his car was wrongly placed.

He gets asked about it and gives a diplomatic response and people do not understand why he gave that response. People also forget that he was pitted before Nico and I have no doubts the stop was. Deliberately slow so he could not get ahead of him because their lead car generally is given first dibs at the pit, they only reversed this for strategy purposes but did not want Nico to be upset or think Lewis was being favoured.

Not really difficult to uunderstand

Ah bless Hobo, there's no conspiracy. First I was upset but thought about it and it made sense. Rosberg beat Hamilton. Have no issue saying that.

If only you were as gracious to Ricciardo for beating Vettel with relative ease without the excuses
