Stan The Man

Is it really 21 Years since Stan arrived at the City Ground?

In my humble opinion, the greatest striker that Forest have possessed in my living memory (first started watching in 1980 as a wee youngster standing on a wooden stool in the Pavillion End). Also think he had better attributes than some England strikers that went on to have better international careers, heaven knows why he wasn't able to shine on an international stage.

Shearer has got fifty caps that should have gone to Stan.

I played against Bert Bowery when he played for Players, he was awesome, strong as an ox.

A question for those who watched Johnny Carey's team:

Stan or Joe? It's a tough call ain't it.

Forest legend. He often says the only clubs he cares about are Villa (boyhood fan), Southend and, of course, Forest.

One of the best strikers I've seen play for you is Garry Birtles. And all he cost you was £2000 from long eaton town

They were two amazing seasons with Collymore upfront. Felt like he could win games on his own and he often did. Was a bit too fragile to be a top player and it didn't work out when he thought the grass was greener at Anfield mainly for this reason. Clark was the only manager to get into his head and get him focused on being a demon of a player on the pitch. Saw Stan at the Approach and he doesn't have a good word to says about the Scousers.

Wassa, i hope that you were being genuine there because as a team player, Birtles was better than Colleymore IMHO but couldnt do anything like Stanley could individually.

Wish Stan had stayed with us, think we finished runners up following promotion with a hell of a side but it all just sort of fell apart after Stan had left.

Think Stan would have made Buxton and Steve Bloomer's statue cry at the same time had he played for us against them. #mardybastards
