Are we missing something more obvious?

I don't think we can entirely blame the amount foreigners who make the league stronger for our for poor International Team showing... I don't think we can solely blame £££ either - lots of players playing abroad and for other International teams are on big wages....

No England players playing abroad is more a problem or a worry for me. Why don't some of our players look for moves away from the Premiership?

We have players who only know domestic kick and rush, full throttle Premiership football - what the public demand - entertainment. In their comfort zone, at home in familiar surroundings week in - week out...... How about some of our best players seeking moves overseas to develop themselves and learn a different culture of Football?? Being away from the familiarity of home and changes in match preperation. Learning a different language and testing one's self.

Champions League is their only experience of playing different tactics and cultures. It would also be benficial in having a mix of players playing in different climates, so when the big tournaments in the summer months come round we have players who are used to the heat - less time acclimatising - more time on tactics and team play. I don't think its healthy having a squad full of domestic rivals.

In simplistic terms, Liverpool, United, City, Arsenal and Chelsea players who probably don't particularly like each other or need more time to bond to become a team.

A blend of players playing at home and abroad would be beneficial - Owen, Beckham, Woodgate, McManaman and now Defoe (Not in squad) in recent times are the only players I can think of who have gone and given it a go. Pretty poor really.

Thoughts?

Joey Barton and Joe Cole both went abroad too, but never featured in the England team again (not so much Barton, although I think he should have been involved)

Wont happen sadly, most come here for a higher wage, not all, but most, why would our players go abroad for a lower wage?
