While commenting on the article "Suarez' secret agenda?" by PaxtonSageNOnion#7 I wrote that only in England is the whole incident even being reported. So, out of curiousity I looked through todays sports newspapers and front/back covers of different countries.
My theory was that in England it was covered everywhere more because of the media's love of Hodgson and this incident gave them the chance to have Woy hidden in the paper somewhere rather than it being moral journalism (which doesnt exist).
Heres what I found:
Spain
http://en.kiosko.net/es/sport.html
Only in AS on front page
Greece:
http://en.kiosko.net/gr/sport.html
not visible anywhere
Italy (italian player bitten)
http://en.kiosko.net/it/sport.html
Small snippets in corner. Main headings being "all of you go home" and things along that nature
only one french sports newspaper (l'equipe):
http://en.kiosko.net/fr/sport.html
nowhere
And now we have the English:
http://en.kiosko.net/uk/sport.html
Only the Times dont have it as their main story.
Edit: Id like to add that I do not condone what he did and should face a ban of whatever FIFA deems appropriate.
What makes this article even more appropriate is that the links were meant to be newspapers of 25/06/2014, not todays, but they still make the point!
Suarez and the media

Actually, on all the Spanish press it's on the front page - you may not see it as the lead story but it is there. I is even in the non sport press front pages in Spain.
In Greece, it is just below the fact that Greece got through the group stages. Rightly so, the Greeks are proud.
In Germany, it's everywhere.
What these sports newspapers generally do is have a a small photo and short on the front page with a single or double spread inside. I am fed up with seeing the mock ups of Suarez as a vampire or dog in the Spanish media today.
==================
what i mean is that its not the LEAD story.
The consensus seems to be its no worse than a studs up tackle or an elbow. No Liverpool fan is saying its acceptable, but the brush off is telling...
===============
i think that depends on the incident.
personally, id rank this as worse than a bite:

A video of Pedro Mendes?
Is it his fault then? Someone else to blame?

Might want to recheck that...I watched it, it doesn't.
Could have just listed the example, however Suarez's action is worse, strange and somewhat disgusting.
Hence the widespread media coverage, here and abroad...

ok, well, you know the incident.
i (personally) dont see how a bite is worse than knocking someone out and putting them in hospital.
Both disgraceful and have no place on a football pitch regardless of 'weirdness', and taste level.

Actually...didn't know the incident. Or at least remember it, I confused it with another, so will retract^ and wont comment on it individually.
That said, biting, lashing out and using your mouth(?!) to hurt another person..let alone a player, on television, in front of millions is definitely strange, disgusting and animalistic.
Both shouldn't happen, in football or anywhere...why you'd want a mouthful of Chiellini, I've no idea.

Holtby the incident is at 2:58 in the video i sent, f youd like a reference to what I also consider unacceptable on a pitch, and that both have no place.
But, yes, we agree on the rest.

I think as well as the act itself, the attempt to downplay or cover it up by Suarez, Uruguay and beyond is the bit that pi$$es me off.

on the other hand, the english presses determination to make it the most most lethal thing since saddam hussein is just as bad.
rather than focussing on their own house they are trying to tidy up a few doors down... sounds a lot like british politics to be honest
