Suarez Ban- My Take

This will not go down well with my fellow Liverpool fans, but anyway.

I think Suarez got off quite lightly to be perfectly honest, if we were to exclude the whole "footballing activity" relating to training as well, which seems far fetched.

I shall explain. Well, get this one out the way... its his third (3!!!) time.

Apart from that, it was done at FIFA's show piece event. And then they (Uruguay) had the laughable (like Liverpool did and made us look fooking stupid) excuse of either "I dont know what youre talking about" and "theyre out to get us".

Like FIFA WANT to ban their star players from their own events.

It thrust FIFA into the spotlight more than they wanted to be for this world cup. Noone has defended him or considered what he did normal, and is being mocked worldwide, apart from England where he apparently took a shotgun out and shot someone.

The ban will have him miss next summer's Copa America but will realistically be back for next World Cup, and maybe even 2016 Olympics should he be picked as one of the over 23 players (although that event is hosted by the IOC and not FIFA, so not sure on that one).
He also misses 13 Liverpool matches, along with the 1 he misses with Uruguay (at least) during the world cup. Thats 14 matches. He got 10 the last time and 7 in Holland (I think).

How is that excessive?
And why does FIFA not have a right to ban a FIFA REGISTERED FOOTBALL PLAYER managed by a FIFA LICENSED AGENT playing in a FIFA MEMBER ASSOCIATION?

However, I'm sure the club's lawyers know better than any of us do, and if they were to handle the case as a firm (FSG) and not as a club (Liverpool- FIFA Licensed Club) then they may be able to get some damages from Uruguay, much like in the case of a player getting injured.

Thats my opinion anyway. That it counts for much in the grand scheme of things, but there you go.

I think something may happen on appeal. Quite often organisations like the IOC and ICB set their punishments at the high end, knowing an appeal will come. I fully expect the same punishment, and probably, rightly so. I think the training and stadium ban may be reduced.
================

i dont see how banning him from going to watch Tranmere for example helps with the ban?
what does FIFA gain out of the whole stadium ban?

i fully expect that to be scrapped as well as the training ban.
However, the rest will probably stand, and to be honest, rightly so.

Sorry, got carried away by the general approach of this forum being "im right, if you dont like it, go stuff yourself regardless of how many valid points and/or stats you bring up"

Unfortunately you have to see it as Saurez punishing Liverpool and not Fifa.
The way i see it is that Fifa had to give a heavy ban as
they would be held responsible if he perhaps did a Mike Tyson.
I would have liked Fifa to seek clearance from a psychologist first to see if he is fit to play.

Does anyone else find it a bit surprising that Suarez has got away with these bites? I mean from the players themselves? I know they would be in as much trouble as him if they did retaliate but can't believe one of them hasn't clumped him for doing it.

I think suarez biting players and staying at liverpool is a good thing.
all ian ayre has to do to sign a player is offer a little bit less than what theyre asking for in wages and finish with the line "suarez has never bitten a teammate. he loves his teammates. join us and he wont bite you"

that would be a funny deal clincher
