According to todays Bolton News we are set to sign former Palace left back Dean Moxey on a free transfer following his release having failed to agree terms with teammate Johnny Parr. Apparently he underwent a medical last night and is set to agree terms today taking our summer signings up to 7.

To me this is a good signing as it means we can start the season with a recognised left back. Although Ream did very well there, I still feel he is more suited as a CB. This does leave Dougie with something of a selection dilemma. Does he keep Ream as a LB and have Moxey as backup while Tierney is out, or vice versa? Who does he start with as his CB pairing? Ream and Mills were good together as were Mills and Wheater. Then theres new boy Dervite.
We all know Dougie loves to rotate and tinker, but for me this should exclude the defence unless truly necessary. A settled unit at the back makes life a lot easier for the players in front and for Bogdan in net.
I am happy with our business so far. Only two days into the window and we have shipped out some of the high earners/deadwood and brought in 7 players. Only 2 are new to the squad so the infamous Bolton 'bedding in' period should be limited. Our focus should now be on securing at least one new striker if not two. Im starting to feel like we should move away from Juke and start exploring other options, because the longer this drags on the more likely we are to start the season with only one senior striker in Beckford, unless Craig Davies is brought back into the fold, and even then we are still short of actual goalscorers. Lets hope Dougie has a few irons in the fire.

I agree regarding the Juke, unless of course the powers that be know more than us. However that seems unlikely as I sometimes wonder if they know what day it is.
