Hey everyone, first article on here. I was wondering, how do you think Nani would cope in a CF role behind Rooney, Hernandez or Berbatov?
I think he would be very unpredictable there and be a menace to the opposing defenders. With Young and Valencia on the wings it would be a barrage of pace that defenders would struggle to deal with.
Also, as we've seen in the past few matches, Nani is helping out with the defence more so could he even be played in a CM role in a 4-4-2 with Carrick/Fletcher sitting behind him?
I would like your thoughts.
Would Nani Work?

Not a bad idea at all. Worth trying at least.

i was merely suggesting a system that could provide more cutting edge when going forward, im not a WUM and i've supported United all my life, before i knew how football worked... im not impressed by the paranoia of some united fans that think if they dont attend games regulary they must be a plastic or not a real united fan.
for me to attend a match would mean breaking the bank as some people cant afford the luxurys.
i hope you will now refrain from calling me a 'bitter' and a WUM

I like Nani as a player, and rate him much more than Valencia. However, I don't think he is the type of player to just play behind the centre forward - he's not big or strong enough in the typical forward mould, and whilst skillful out wide, not a good enough passer or intelligent enough in say the Scholes mould. I personally think he sticks to his defensive duties pretty well out wide, and havig him and Young on the flanks to feed Rooney et al is good enough for me.
I would like to see Berbatov start - the pace from the midfield with Young, Nani and even Anderson is frightening for defences and Berba's clever use of the ball and deft touches could really bring them into play.
