I havent created an article for sometime now, but just thought it be a good idea to assess Britain's number 1 driver Lewis Hamilton.
It is clearly not up for debate that Lewis Hamilton is the best formula 1 driver we as a nation have to offer.
The general mood i get from the media is, that if this lad sorts his head out, im afraid you are not beating him. Lets not forget, he has had some bad luck this season, however including that bad luck he is only 4 points behind a driver who is very much admired in the paddock. Without this bad luck i believe it safe to assume that he would be leading his team rival.
Lets also not forget that this week Fernando Alonso has been discussed at great lengths as one of the all time greats. Fully deserved fernando, you are a fantastic accomplished driver. But lets also not forget Lewis beat his double world champion colleague in his rookie season. Testament to Lewis's raw natural ability.
After this, Lewis' demons seem to get hold of him. Something i believe all brilliant people have, sort of there achilles heel. Not that he started to drive badly, he still drove very well, but when he had bad luck, it got on top of him, he doubted himself, a trait not often seen in the greats.
Some may not like Lewis' personality traits, his americanisms, his celebrityness. However i dont think its in any doubt that Lewis, in time will be looked on as a great of our sport. The only thing not backing him up at the moment is the stat of number of WDC's. Which he has plenty of time to sort, and even if he doesnt, he will be regarded as one of the best this country has ever produced.
His weaknesses seem to be being abated by his new found maturity, which i think is a signal to his rivals and his detractors. Watch out! Its hammer time!

manx the bottom line is you were not old enough to have understood senna"s F1 career and all the fine detail that went with that career as from what you have told me you would have only been 4 yrs old when senna started his F1 career

Hamilton will be spoken about no matter what because he is gifted and one of the best drivers on the grid.
It is unfortunate that Di Resta is not that good, cannot blame Lewis for Paul's lack of talent

i might start a proper topic over the weekend asking people about the bbc 606 connection with lewis and senna and comparisons between the two drivers -
are you ok with that --- dont want you to think i am starting the topic just because we had our little disagreement on the matter here -
talking about the subject here just gave me the idea for a proper topic that everybody can join in with and is sure to ensure a lively debate --
