David Luiz

The whole team was poor. Even before yesterday very few of us rate Luiz's defensive capabilities - at best he is a maverick defender who needs a strong disciplined CB beside him (like Terry at Chelsea) The biggest miss for Brazil yesterday was Silva, not Neymar. Luiz was taking the role of the responsible CB, needing to organise his defence, and he lacks the ability and discipline to do that. Add to that someone like Marcello who thinks he's a winger, it's little surprise the Brazilians struggled. However the fact they were SO poor was not for me due to a totally mesmerising German performance (as good as they were) but just an undisciplined, lack of cohesion Brazilian approach and perfomance.

Did no one from the bench notice what was going on and order any changes? Brazils shape was all over the place. Too many of their players were trying to do it all by themselves. They ending up losing possession and losing a goal when that happened. That wasn't just a beating. That was getting your ass handed to you.

Bizarre performance. At the very least if you cant match them attacking wise. You try and defend. They did neither.

Think the plan was for them to attack Germany, nick a goal early and then sit back and foul/break up play and hit on the counter like they did with Columbia. But the Germans are better organised than the Columbians and don't rely on one person.

Even before that match Brazil should have played Miranda and Filipe Luis, yet they didn't even make the squad

Was Lucas Moura injured before . How he doesn't make that team i don't know. Fred and Bernard played as their names suggested by looking more suited to the saloon bar at the red lion. Maybe Scolari's ant-chelsea stance explains no starts for ramires or willian.
Glad rafa was overlooked for this lot,he has enough performances for united to try to forget as it is.
