Not sure whether I'm delighted or indifferent to be honest.
20 league goals fired us to Promotion but when you consider 10 of those were penalties the truth is that he played in on of the best teams ever in tier 2 (102 pts about 5th all-time?) and managed 10 goals from open play. Not sure whether that sounds a bit ungrateful as a number of those were vital strikes and there were a lot of assists too?
I suppose it's good news and he's a great asset to the squad, just hope we have another striker lined up.
2 more years for Nugent

Jamie Vardy will no doubt win plenty more penalties next season so Nuge bagging ten penalties could be vitally important and he had one of the highest assists in the league.
He's a quality footballer, dangerous at running with people, probably should convert more chance if in going to be critical but and anyone that can pass the ball into the net the way he can deserves to be in our squad.
I'm also happy because the rumours were he wanted there years but settled for two to stay which says a lot too.

If Nige/Walshy think it's the right thing to do I'm OK with this.
Keeps last year's squad mostly together which is important given so many were out of contract.
A couple of quality signings and I'll be happy - they are obviously after another striker in particular.

Absolutely Nuneaton, I back the managers judgement. Just hope you are right about another striker coming in.

The whole 2 years / 3 years thing is probably why this particular contract has taken so long to sort out. 2 years is probably right overall, but you can see why he'd want 3 - as much as anything it would be symbolic of being central to the manager's Premiership plans.
We do need another striker though. Nugent and Vardy have natural energy and Nugent can help to create goals, but neither is necessarily a great finisher. Wood looks like a more natural finisher but I still worry that he doesn't quite fit into a passing and crossing style and is much better playing direct football, or at least on the counter. Having said that, we could well find ourselves having to play on the counter a lot more this year, so perhaps that would play to his strengths.
