So I should know exactly who we should sign?

I think if we get a top cb we'll be fine with him, hes good but hes not sanchez, thats fair enough isnt it?

The problem people have Ilori, is that you seem to want players who don't exist, and have unrealistic expectations of what being in the CL for the first time in 5 years will get us.

All clubs feed on teams below them in terms of reputation. Having been out of the CL for so long a lot of players will pick ever presents such as arsenal ahead of us. Along with many clubs that have consistently appeared in the CL the last 5 years.

So first of you need to write off the top 3/4 in the world. But you also need to write off the world class bracket below them. Such as sanchez mhki (sorry rap) costa etc.

Then you come to the players who are potentially world class and this is the bracket we currently have to shop in. This is the bracket players like bony reside in, and in this group of players you need to identify which of them can make a step to the above class.

Most teams will only have one/two players from the world class bracket and fill out the rest of their team with players from the "potential" players, markovich lallana and bony all fall in this category, as do the likes of sterling sturridge Hendo etc.

That's the top quality of player we can look at untill we spend a few years in the CL.

Stop being overly pessimistic you can't expect the top players, you complain if we don't sign players and you complain if we do buy players and call them overpriced.

No teams let their best players go cheap, and we are currently trying to hoover up the best talent from lower placed clubs in the prem. This is a sound plan!!

Dont agree, mkhi/ we could get, we didnt but we could have, we are a big club, we can get that calibre of player imo we are a huge club, I dont expect worldclass players in every position thats never been our way.

Not sure why you assume that and not sure why me saying I think we could do better means im pessimistic, we are losing the 3rd best player in the at the end of the day, obviously he cant be replaced out right, but if bonys is all we can get then thats fine he is good, a top cb bought in/ a better defence should negate no suarez
