indian cricket has destroyed itself with its grandiose feeling of self importance.
chasing money is where india are at. add to that bullying other members because of their monetary clout and you have a recipe for disaster and all the other icc member countries are laughing their socks off.

Well the board of Cricket Australia, are now going through a major clear-out exercise after a damning report criticizing the collapse of Australian cricket over the last 2 or 3 years, most noticeably the abject defeat of the Ashes on home turf last winter.
So heads are rolling and a totally new gameplan is being proposed & branch & twig level, that they hope will return Australia to the Number One force within 4 years.
The CA board spent too long with their heads in the sand totally in denial that anything was wrong with Australian cricket. But now they've been forced to realise things are just not the same any more, and therefore they're going to have to start from scratch and hope for the best.
This is exactly what happened to England after the 5-0 Ashes whitewash in 2006/7. It took a damning report to make the ECB realise it was stuck in the past and needed a completely new ethos to return England to dominance. And this has now been proven.
I guess, therefore, it will not be long before the BCCI are heavily criticized by a similar independent review, and that things must change for the good of Indian cricket and cricket as a whole.
England went through the mill and came out a better team.
Australia have just started their difficult transformation, but I'm convinced they will return to become a world force in the next 2 or 3 years.
As for India. Well it depends what is more important to the players and the BCCI: quick riches, fame and easier workloads, or a dedicated Test team that will dominant world cricket for years to come?
No pain: no gain. They need to evolve or die. Simple as.

Good post jack.
The problem with the BCCI is they are consumed by their own hubris. In their eyes they are righteous. Plus, there are a lot of wealthy people tied into them, and they must be appeased.
It really will be a very long road beck for Indian cricket if it continues this way.

The idea that the BCCI will have an independent review of cricket, is a pipe dream. They are far too arrogant to believe anyone but they know what to do.

You were never that good before, England has exposed your weakness, Fletcher had nothing to do with it.
