Here is an interesting insight into our new young signing:
Tor-Kristian Karlsen, a writer for BBC/Telegraph etc, and a previous chief scout for several Bundesliga-clubs as well as sporting director for some clubs, including Monaco, wrote about Markovic today:
"I've followed his career since making Partizan debut, talent and potential obvious from the point of breaking into the first team.
Top European sides were monitoring him back then, most of those impressed by his great ability though some concerns re "frail" physique.
In terms of potential there's no doubt in my mind that Markovic is among the top 3-5 greatest talents in European football.
Main characteristics: great ability on the ball (close control, touch), explosive/very quick in one vs one situations, intelligent.
Transfer fee may seem high but if player develops according to expectations/potential, he could (should) be worth x2 in 18-24 months."
Has anyone seen him play? I haven't seen a single minute of Benfica in a long time and thus know nothing about the lad.

He's been linked with a host of big clubs and is obviously a good player. Hope he does well for us!

Good article Llori!
Explains why it took so long to complete the deal with it being 3rd party ownership.
From watching a few vids of him, he's got good feet, good passing and above all he's feckin rapid!!!!!!!!

I have watched him a couple of times. His stand out performance for me was against Inter. He made a lot of mistakes but he took the risks.
Intelligent, good touch, silky, good eye for a pass etc.
As it says above he has the potential to be really good. He is lightweight so maybe needs a few scouse pies in him. It worked on Sterling
