Ron Vlaar Swap Deal

If he wasn't our only CB signing, I'd take Vlaar. Would definitely be happy with the swap deal.

I also think Young would do well again at another club with less pressure.

Are Villa gna pay Ashleys 120k a week wages?

That's the stumbling block with most of the players we'd like to offload unfortunately.

Young agent must be a genius to have got that deal.

What about the time and investment in Jones, Smalling and Evans?

Four CBs isn't a lot and at least two of those are prone to injury.

Well its happens that often I highly doubt it, I recall Liverpool having to pay Joe Coles remaining wages when he joined Wham... Sometimes its better to just take the hit if you can negotiate a signing on fee with youngs agent that's cheaper then fulfilling his contract on the bench. Or just hope he'd rather play football then earn an extra 80k a week.

Id take Vlaar for Young and Anderson

I could see us taking Young on a loan deal with MU paying part of his wages. But with the current state of our finances don't think a permament deal is on. Maybe a loan with an option to buy, at most. So I can't see Young and Vlaar being linked.

If MU came in directly for Vlaar, I would hope we'd ask a lot. Vlaar could be tempted by MU; I'm hoping it would take a club at that level to tempt him, and I think it would.

Vlaar going would be a significant minus. With Vlaar, Okore and Senderos in our defence I think we can be much stronger this season, have a better season, and that means money, possibly quite a lot of money. If Vlaar goes we'd need to find players who would compensate for him leaving, and that wouldn't be easy. Although Lambert almost certainly has back up plans.

Hope we keep Vlaar.

We will not pay his wages or anywhere near so unless anyone does, he will sit out contract
