Back Four

The obvious one is Azpi-Cahill-Terry-Luis which is very good. However I think we should be wary of Terry's age. I think he's at risk of getting niggling injuries as the season goes on, so we may see more of Ivan partnering Cahill

It's not an 11 man game nowdays ,so we need a strong squad all round .The new boys will need a while to settle in and acclimatise ,and what with injuries and suspensions etc,plus a long hard season,I'm all for consolidation in the manner that Jose seems to be going .

Azpi Cahill Varane/Terry Luis

Ivanovic as the ultimate squad player. Any injury and Ivan can cover (with Azpi switching to RB).

I think Luis-Terry-Cahill-Azi will be the most common back four over the season, that said it is a long old season and it is horses for courses, Brana on the right allows us to play quite a narrow system and he can effectively be like having a third centre back when defending with Luis the outlet on the left. When playing teams with old fashioned powerful centre forwards, especially playing 4-4-2 I can see this being the four of choice.

The most defensive set up would see Azi on the left and Brana on the right, Luis on the left and Azi on the right I’d expect to see more natural attacking threat. I think they’ll all get plenty of games. Brana can cover inside too and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Zouma play a part.

It seems like we want a CB as well. Linked with benatia and Mangala. Dunno who'd be the CB pairing if one was signed

Has Kalas gone on loan again? could be a good backup option

Hopefully not Manghala, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Let City pay 30 million + for him.
